Post system – square

Square post systems give orthogonal lines that align easily with curtain wall grids and contemporary cladding joints. Glass is usually thicker laminated toughened than on round-post domestic schemes because commercial line loads and deflection limits drive the build-up.

We detail drained rebates at each post so water does not sit against the lower gasket edge. Where the balustrade backs a heated floor, thermal continuity at the post penetration is discussed with the envelope consultant so cold spots do not appear on internal finishes.

Standard Glass Specification

Outer: 13.5–17.5mm laminated toughened outer build-up coordinated with clamp geometry.
Cavity: Not applicable — single structural infill; drained vertical joints between bays.
Inner: Inner ply of laminate tuned for post-breakage behaviour at public levels.
Posts: Square structural posts with welded or bolted shoes to steel or reinforced concrete.
Coating: Spectrally selective outer ply optional on south-facing commercial terraces.
